1. About AfriHue

AfriHue Magazine is published by AfriHue Mag LTD, registered in Nairobi, Kenya.

Registered address: Greenpark, AthiRiver. General enquiries: [social@afrihue.com].Editorial enquiries: [information@afrihue,com] Commercial and partnership enquiries: [information@afrihue.com]

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing afrihue.com, subscribing to our newsletter, purchasing a print edition or submitting material to us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the version in force, and the date above records when it was last changed. Material changes will be announced on the site.

3. Ownership and Funding

AfriHue Magazine is independently owned and operated. Our revenue derives from print sales, brand partnerships, sponsored features, advertising and commissioned editorial work. No advertiser, sponsor or partner holds an ownership stake in the publication, and no commercial relationship confers editorial control.

4. Editorial Standards

We hold ourselves to the following standards in everything we publish.

Originality. Our features, interviews and reviews are our own work. Where we draw on the reporting of others, we say so plainly and link to the source.

Attribution. Every article carries a named author. Contributor biographies are published alongside their work so that readers know who is speaking and on what authority.

Accuracy. We verify names, titles, dates, prices and claims before publication. Interview subjects are quoted faithfully and in context.

Fairness. Where a piece is critical of a person, house or brand, we seek comment before publication and represent the response fairly.

Independence. Editorial judgement rests with the editorial team alone. Sponsors and advertisers see no copy in advance except where the piece is a disclosed sponsored feature, and even then final approval rests with us.

Human authorship. We do not publish reporting generated wholesale by artificial intelligence and presented as the work of a person. Where AI tools assist in research, transcription or image production, we disclose it on the piece.

5. Sponsored Content and Advertising

We label commercial content clearly and without ambiguity.

  • Sponsored marks a feature paid for by a brand and produced with their involvement.
  • In partnership with marks editorial produced with financial support where the brand had no copy approval.
  • Gifted marks any product, garment, travel or hospitality received without charge in connection with a piece.

Affiliate links, where used, are disclosed at the head of the article. Advertising is visually distinct from editorial and never presented in a manner designed to be mistaken for it. We decline commercial work that would compromise our editorial standards.

6. Corrections Policy

We correct errors promptly and openly.

If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, write to [afrihue@afrihue.com] with the article title, the passage in question and the correct information. We acknowledge all correction requests within three working days.

Where a correction is warranted, we amend the article and append a note at the foot of the piece recording what was changed and when. Substantive corrections that alter the meaning of a piece are noted at the head of the article. We do not silently delete or rewrite published work.

Requests for the removal of accurate published material are considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as a demonstrable risk to a person's safety.

7. Contributions and Submissions

We welcome pitches from writers, photographers, stylists and illustrators across the continent and the diaspora. Submit to [information@afrihue.com].

By submitting material you confirm that the work is your own, that it has not been published elsewhere unless declared, and that you hold the rights necessary to grant us a licence to publish it.

Commissioned contributors retain copyright in their work and grant AfriHue a licence to publish in print, on afrihue.com, in our archive and across our social channels, together with the right to use extracts for promotion. Rates, deadlines and rights are confirmed in writing before commissioning.

Unsolicited material is read where capacity allows but we cannot guarantee a response, and we accept no obligation in respect of material sent to us unrequested.

8. Intellectual Property

All editorial, photography, illustration, design and the AfriHue name and marks are the property of AfriHue Magazine or its contributors and licensors. You may read, link to and share our work for personal, non commercial purposes.

You may not republish, syndicate, sell or reproduce our content in whole or in substantial part, nor use it to train machine learning systems, without our written permission. Requests for syndication or licensing should go to [information@afrihue.com].
